La primera vez que escuché algo sobre este poema fue en el Filme de Disney, con temática de Halloween, Hocus Pocus de 1993. En este film usaron las dos primeras estrofas (con una leve modificación en la palabra Shadows por Magic, debido al público dirigido). Estas estrofas se convirtieron en el tema "Sarah's Song", cantada por la actriz Sarah Jessica Parker (Sex and the City). La versión de Disney, aunque suavizada, cumple su cometido de hipnotizar con una voz de sirena. Como poeta obscuro, Allan Poe es un obligatorio en la bibliografía.
